Leni Glanzmann is a 55 year-old baker, and very meticulous. While she waits for her son, Andi, to finally find a wife and take over the business, they meet every morning at 4 o’clock at the bakery to make bread. Until the day the Argentinean dance teacher, Toni Alvarez, turns Leni’s life upside-down.
On the very same day as her wedding anniversary, Melanie, Leni’s niece, receives a surprise visit from Toni, a man she met whilst studying Spanish in Buenos Aires. With such short notice, Melanie pretends Toni is the son of an Argentinean penfriend and asks her aunt to give him a bed for the night.
Snowed under with work, Leni forgets to organise a fill-in for her women’s gymnastics group. She then gets the idea to strike a bargain with Toni: she will provide him with food and board in exchange for him giving Latin dance lessons to these women.
Leni and Toni could not be more different. Toni goes out on the town every evening and when he comes home finds Leni doing her morning Sudoku. The house’s rhythm is all shook up, and soon Rolf, Leni’s partner, begins to view this arrangement unfavourably. He’s been dreaming of moving in with Leni for some time, but when he begins to suspect a romantic liaison between Leni and Toni, he jumps into the fray.
